O pão-do-ló é um bolo fofo de farinha, açúcar e ovos, mas o que intriga é o porquê da palavra "ló".

Já na Itália, chama-se "Pan di spagna", ou seja pão de Espanha. No Reino Unido tem o nome de "sponge cake".
